Welcome! My name is Shannon, creator behind The Middle Years Counselor.

I started my career as a middle school teacher in 2012. I quickly realized students were never going to fully learn what I was teaching until their needs were met. Until they unpacked the baggage they brought to school with them every day.

With a passion and dedication for students in "the middle years" it has allowed me a deeper understanding of the unique challenges that middle school students face. My goal is to provide helpful information, resources, and support to middle school counselors, students, and their families to help them navigate the sometimes complicated middle school years.
